A video clip was shared by a Trinamool Congress MC MP Mahua Moitra showing her being forcibly lifted by police and removed from a protest site.

During a sit-in protest at Krishi Bhawan, TMC MP Mahua Moitra, along with other senior party leaders, were detained by Delhi Police after being denied a meeting with Union Minister of state for rural development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.

Moitra shared a video on X that showed her being escorted out of Krishi Bhawan by security personnel.

In the video, Delhi Police officers can be seen forcefully lifting and dragging Moitra away from the protest site.

The person recording the incident can be heard shouting at the personnel, “What are you doing? She is an MP.”

According to TMC MP Shantanu Sen, the Union minister had a scheduled meeting with TMC leaders, including party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, at 6 pm.

However, the party delegation had to wait for approximately 90 minutes before the MoS informed them that she could not meet with them.

Meanwhile, Minister Sadhvi said that she waited for the TMC delegation till 8.30 pm.

The minister in a post on X said that the TMC delegation wasted two and a half hours of her time.

She said that she kept waiting to meet them as per their appointment but finally left without meeting them at 8.30 pm.

Jyoti claimed that the TMC leaders made party workers pose as common public and insisted that the minister meet them.

While they were being taken away in a bus, Moitra shouted out that the delegation had been manhandled and forcibly removed.

Earlier, Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee had suggested that the TMC delegation was supposed to meet with Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh regarding the release of funds for the centrally-sponsored MGNREGA and other developmental schemes.

Banerjee expressed his frustration with Giriraj Singh’s absence. Initially, the meeting was scheduled for 12 noon, but an email was received later stating that Singh would not be available during that time.
