In a significant turn of events, Russia launched a significant air assault on Ukraine, resulting in a substantial loss of life and widespread destruction.

At least 30 people have been reported dead, and numerous others injured in what is being described as the fiercest attack since the conflict’s inception nearly two years ago.

The Ukrainian military disclosed that a staggering 158 missiles and drones were fired by Russia, with 114 missiles successfully intercepted and destroyed.

As per an NDTV report, the assault spanned various cities, causing damage to critical infrastructure and leaving communities in shock.

The gravity of the situation was further underscored by a Russian missile reportedly entering Polish airspace, heightening tensions and triggering NATO’s expression of solidarity with Poland.

President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked, “Today Russia hit us with almost everything it has in its arsenal.”

Despite the global outcry, Russia continued to assert its military actions, claiming to have executed 50 group strikes and one massive strike on Ukrainian military facilities over the past week.

As a result of the assault, the international community, including the United States and the United Kingdom, swiftly pledged increased military aid to Ukraine.

President Joe Biden urged Congress to urgently approve new aid for Ukraine, emphasising the necessity of swift action.

“Congress must step up and act without any further delay,” he asserted.
