The properties, associated with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, involved in the land-for-job scam have been attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday (31 July).

Among the properties attached by the ED are the residential houses of the Yadav family in Delhi and Patna. One of the houses is located in New Friends Colony.

In its fresh chargesheet regarding the land-for-job scams, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has included Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, along with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.

This is the second charge sheet filed in the case, and it also includes the names of 14 other individuals.

The alleged crime has led to a charge sheet being filed in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, which states that Tejashwi and Rabri were beneficiaries.

Along with members of the Yadav family, A K Infosystems and several middlemen have also been named in the case by the CBI. The charge sheet has been submitted to a special CBI court.

It is alleged that during Lalu Prasad’s tenure as a minister in the UPA government from 2004 to 2009, individuals from Patna were appointed as substitutes in various zonal railways across Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Hazipur.

The case, filed in 2022, accuses former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav of receiving financial benefits for his family members in exchange for providing railway jobs to residents of Bihar.

The CBI investigation uncovered seven cases of quid pro quo land transfers. According to officials, twelve individuals were given jobs in six different zones in exchange for these land transfers.
