Maharashtra: An accident occurred on the bridge within the jurisdiction of Kalambe village, situated along the Mumbai-Nashik highway. The incident involved multiple vehicles and caused significant chaos on the busy route connecting Mumbai to Nashik.

Vehicles Involved And Collision Sequence

The accident involved three vehicles: Truck No. MH18BG0010, and buses with registration numbers MH20BL2006, MH20BL2015, and MH20BL2170. According to eyewitness accounts and statements from those present at the scene, the tragic incident unfolded as the truck, registered as MH18BG0010, collided with Bus No. MH20BL2170, leading the bus to collide with the road divider.

Later, Bus No. MH20BL2006 collided with the truck, causing it to overturn on the left side of the road. Bus No. MH20BL2015, trailing behind, climbed the divider, contributing to the severity of the accident.

Several Injured In The Crash

Remarkably, despite the intensity of the collision, there were no reported fatalities. However, the incident resulted in 02 individuals sustaining serious injuries, while 08 others suffered minor injuries. The seriously injured victims have been identified as Madan Dayaram Bhabar (18 years old, resident of Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh) and Vijay Motiram Tupsundar (bus driver from Paithan district, Sambhajinagar).

The minor injuries were sustained by Mustafa Mohammad Noor (28 years old), Shabbir Shaikh, Afsar Babu Shah (40 years old), Imran Khan Shaukat Khan (21 years old), Aved Matin Ahmad (32 years old), Balaji Gangaram Nishane (34 years old), Haribhau Dudhe (39 years old), and Ishwar Laxman Dhobey (43 years old).

Incident Management And Traffic Resumption

Efforts to manage the incident swiftly involved the use of a private crane, which successfully moved the bus involved in the collision aside from the main traffic flow.

Consequently, traffic on both sides of the highway reportedly has been restored to normalcy, allowing for the smooth movement of vehicles after the unfortunate accident. Authorities have launched an investigation in the incident to understand the exact causes and prevent similar incidents in the future.
